AC Milan are convinced Thierry Henry would have joined them if he had left Arsenal.

The French superstar recently signed a new contract with the Gunners after their heartbreaking Champions League final defeat.

He'd been linked for months with a move to Arsenal's Paris conquerors Barcelona, but Milan chief Adriano Galliani claims he could have been heading for the San Siro instead this summer.

"The dream in our hearts was Henry, who would have joined us had he not decided to remain at Arsenal," he said.

"I wanted him because I rated him as a player but now I appreciate him much more from a human point of view."
