• Jun. 1, 2006 - Alabama A&M adds three basketball signees
Alabama A&M recently added three players to its 2006-2007 recruiting class.
Cornelius Hester, a 6-foot-2, 170-pounder out of Shaw High in Mobile, was a two-time Class 5A All-State selection and was a finalist for Mr. Basketball honors. He averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Jonathan Inman, 6-5 and 230, averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots at Tri-Cities (Ga.) High School. He was a first-team All-State selection by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association and a second-team All-State pick from the Georgia Sportswriters Association.
Jonathan Belt, 6-7 and 235, earned All-Area and All-District honors after averaging 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots at North Atlanta Prep Academy.
The Bulldogs previously signed Bob Jones' Desmond Jackson and Buckhorn's Trant Simpson.

• Mar. 13, 2006 - Ark.-Pine Bluff upsets Alabama A&M
William Byrd had 21 points and four assists to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff to pull off an upset 64-54 victory over Alabama A&M odds Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Jarvis Gunter had 14 rebounds for the Golden Lions (12-15) against the defending SWAC champions. He also had four blocks as he helped lead the Lions to their first SWAC tournament victory.
The ncaa Lions led 33-23 by the end of the first half of the game. The Bulldogs (13-13) mounted a rally in the second half, taking a brief 39-37 spread lead of the night. It would be their only lead, as the Lions retook control for the rest of the game.
Senior Obie Trotter ended his Alabama A&M career by leading the Bulldogs with 20 points. Joe Martin had 11 rebounds.

• Mar. 3, 2006 - Alabama A&M 72, Jackson State 62
| Obie Trotter scored 20 points to lead Alabama A&M to a win 72-62 total point spread win over Jackson State Thursday.
Michael Ford added 17 points for the Bulldogs (12-12, 10-7). Joe Martin scored 11 points and had 15 rebounds.
Alabama A&M had a 9-point lead late in the first half with a score of 41-32. It was a lead they would hold the rest of the game.
Dakari Wallace scored 15 points for Jackson State (14-15, 10-7). Trey Johnson added 14 points to the score. Julius Young had seven rebounds for the night.

• Feb. 22, 2006 - Southern U. 84, Alabama A&M 80
| Deforrest Riley-Smith scored 17 points and Chris Alexander followed with 14 to help lead Southern University to an 84-to-80 win over Alabama A-and-M today.Southern (13-11) had five players with double-digit scores. Peter Cipriano and Jerrid Campbell scored 12 points each while Steffon Wiley added 10.
The Eagles led 36-26 at the half and went 5-of-15 from 3-point range.
Michael Ford led Alabama A-and-M (8-12) with 23 points, followed by Obie Trotter with 19 and Joe Martin with 14.
The Bulldogs went 32-of-75 in the game, including 7-of-20 from 3-point range.
