Instead of the one sentence updates so common on other areas of the web, the growing online Christian population doesn’t shy away from dealing with emotional, spiritual, and complex facets of life.

As I searched through Christian blogs, I felt inspired by the sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes uplifting honesty that people were sharing. Life is full of hardships, and none of us should have to suffer through these alone. As the Christian online community grows, my original opinion of the growing detachment of our technology age is shifting gears. The internet, just like life, is what we make of it. We can choose to make connections, or to shy away from humanity, but either the way the internet is only a tool, the intent comes from each of us.

Once I found the online Christian community, I was amazed at how easy it is to connect with and meet Christians from around the globe. A decade ago it never would have been possible for me to speak with someone from Kenya, or the Philippines on the topic of God – let alone to speak with both of them on the same day! I feel uplifted knowing that I can touch on spiritual topics and feel an affinity for and from people who are separated by thousands of miles of land and water.

To attract people that you mesh well with, you must first be honest about who you are.
