Mark Gonzalez scored the only goal and Real Sociedad  won 1-0 against Racing Santander. 

The Durban-born midfielder struck a perfectly timed left-footed volley from outside the area to score in the 75th minute.

The win lifted Sociedad out of the relegation zone to 14th place in the standings, one point above Santander.

Santander's team bus arrived at the Anoeta Stadium with a broken window after local fans hit the vehicle with bottles and other objects. Although no one was injured, police made several arrests, the Interior Ministry said.

In Saturday's only other match, Mallorca drew 0-0 against Alaves.

FC Barcelona, which won 1-0 over Villarreal on Friday, leads the standings with 73 points, 14 more than Valencia and Real Madrid. Osasuna has 58 points while Sevilla has 53 and Celta Vigo has 51.
